In-Painting

In-painting is an image editing technique that fills in or replaces selected areas of an image using surrounding visual information or AI-generated content. The technique is used to remove, repair, or modify parts of an image while preserving a coherent final result.

In-painting can be used to eliminate unwanted objects, extend textures, repair damaged areas, or adjust visual compositions. AI-based in-painting systems generate new image content that blends with the surrounding scene.

In e‑commerce and product imagery workflows, in-painting is often used to clean backgrounds, remove distractions, or refine imperfections without requiring a new photoshoot. The goal is to preserve a natural and visually consistent appearance.

In-painting matters because modern visual production increasingly depends on flexible editing workflows rather than manual reconstruction of every image. Effective in-painting can improve image usability while reducing production effort.

In the context of visual commerce, in-painting connects to background removal, photo retouching, realism, and AI creative automation because it supports scalable image editing and enhancement workflows.
