AI credits power Photoroom's most advanced AI tools, like video ads, product videos, model shots, AI backgrounds and edits with AI. The number shown in your plan is your monthly AI credit pool, shared across your Space and renewed each billing cycle. Different tools consume different amounts of credits, with simpler generations using fewer credits and more advanced ones using more. The monthly credit amount included with your plan may vary depending on your country or region.

Video ads and product videos. Video Ad Maker turns your product photos into video ads with actors, music and voiceover, ready to run on Meta, TikTok and YouTube. You can also animate your product photos into product videos for your product pages and listings. Both are included in Max and Ultra and use your plan's credits. A video ad uses more credits than a product video.

Exports include every image you save from Photoroom, whether from the editor, Batch, or a Shopify sync. Each image counts as 1 export, and the number shown in your plan is your monthly export allowance, shared across all export methods and renewed each billing cycle. API and MCP usage are not included and use a separate allowance. Export limits apply to visual assets up to 2K resolution.

Core tools like Background Remover, Shadows (Presets), Product Fixer, Retouch, AI Fill, AI Expand/Resize, and Image Enhancer, are included on every paid plan with no credit cost. Use them as much as you need within fair-use limits.

Credit AI tools for video ads, product videos, model shots, AI backgrounds and edits with AI, draw from your AI credit pool because they're more resource-intensive to run.

You'll get a notification at 80% and again at 100% of your monthly quota. Once you hit your limit, exports pause until your next billing cycle or you can upgrade to a higher plan anytime to unlock more.

Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately: you get the new plan's credits right away, and your billing cycle resets to that date. Downgrades take effect on your next renewal — you can keep using your current plan's credits until then.

API/MCP credits let you use Photoroom outside the app — through our REST API, or via the MCP server in tools like Claude. Each paid plan includes a wallet of API/MCP credits worth the plan's price, charged at API rates. You only need them if you're automating Photoroom into your own workflow or using it in an AI assistant; most users can ignore this.

You can exclusively use your credit card for payments on desktop. However, on the mobile app, payments are processed through the payment method you've established on either the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

No, VAT/GST is already included.

Go to your account settings in the app and click on “Manage Subscriptions”. You can cancel your subscription (Pro, Max, Ultra or API) with one click.

Navigate to your account settings within the app and select 'Manage Subscriptions.' From there, you can modify your subscription.

We refund customers up to one week after their purchase. Depending on the platform you initially used to subscribe, you'll get a different way to request a refund. Please find all the information in our guide on “How to get a refund”.

Yes, you can cancel, upgrade or downgrade your subscription at any time.

Cancel: If you cancel, your subscription will stop at the end of your current billing period. Your remaining credits will be preserved for 6 months. You can use them if you subscribe again.

Upgrade: Upgrading your plan takes effect immediately: after confirmation, your payment method is charged, you immediately get the credits from the larger plan, and your renewal date gets updated to the current date. For instance, when upgrading from 1000 credits/month to 5000 credits/month, you immediately get 5000 credits and your plan will renew in exactly one month (unless you cancel).

Downgrade: If you're downgrading your plan you will not be billed immediately. Instead, your current plan stays active until the end of the current billing period, and only then does the new plan take effect. For example, when you downgrade your 10000 credits per month plan to the 5000 credits per month on June 10, and your next billing date is July 5, then you will be billed for it on July 5. This is also when the new rollover limit applies, so make sure you use the remaining credits until then.
