What type of studies you may take part in

Most of our studies are one of these three, and we always tell you which one you are signing up for.

30–60 minutes: Online, moderated chats

A video call with one of us, where we explore a specific topic with you. There is nothing to prepare, we just want to hear how you do things.

20–30 minutes: Feature testing

We show you something we are building and ask you to try it out, usually in your own time rather than on a call.

5–10 minutes: Surveys

A few questions you can answer in your own time. Once you have finished, you will be entered into a prize draw.

What taking part looks like

Fill in a short form to complete your profile.
We will ask a few questions about you and your role. That helps us get a clearer picture of your work, so we can invite you to the studies most relevant to you.
We will email you invitations for studies that may be relevant to you. Just follow the instructions in the email to show your interest. More about the studies we run below!
If you are selected for a moderated online study, we will ask you to pick a time slot that works for you. You won't need to prepare anything, and the setup is very relaxed.
You will receive a gift card, usually within one working day of completing the study. You can claim it as a shop voucher, a charity donation or a prepaid debit card.

Is this a sales call?

No. Nobody from sales joins our sessions and we will not follow up with an offer. If you ever want to talk about plans or pricing we will point you to the right person, but we will never bring it up ourselves.

Will you ask about confidential company information?

No. We are interested in how you work, not in your numbers or your roadmap. If a question gets close to something you cannot share, just say so and we will move on.

Who sees what I say?

Only the research and product teams at Photoroom. We do not share your name or your company outside Photoroom, and nothing you tell us is ever attributed to you publicly.

Do you record the sessions?

Yes, we record the sessions, and we will ask for your consent before you agree to take part in the study. You can ask us to stop at any point, or to delete the recording afterwards, and that is completely fine.

What happens to the information you collect?

We keep it securely inside Photoroom and use it only for research. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

Is there a thank you?

Yes. Every session comes with a gift card, usually within one working day of taking part, and you can claim it as a shop voucher, a charity donation or a prepaid debit card. The amount depends on how long the session is and we always tell you before you agree to take part.

Can a colleague join me?

Yes, and often it is better if they do. If someone else on your team owns a different part of the process, bring them along, just let us know in advance so we can plan for two of you.

How often will you contact me?

A few times a year at most, and only when we have a study that matches your profile. You can leave the community whenever you like, just reply to any of our emails and we will remove you.
