PLP (Product Listing Page)

A PLP, or product listing page, is a page that displays multiple products within a category, collection, or search result in an ecommerce store. PLPs help shoppers browse assortments and compare products before deciding which individual product page to open.

A PLP usually presents product cards that include product names, prices, and one or more product images. Because many products appear side by side, images must communicate product identity clearly and quickly within a limited visual space.

PLPs are designed for discovery, filtering, and comparison rather than deep product evaluation. Layout, sorting, faceting, and image clarity all influence how efficiently users can scan the page and identify relevant products.

PLPs are crucial because they shape the first impression of a category or search experience. Strong listing presentation can improve product discovery, increase click-through to PDPs, and support overall store usability.

In the context of visual commerce, PLPs connect to listing image optimization, ecommerce product images, image-led conversion, and visual consistency at scale because product visuals strongly influence how products perform in grouped browsing environments.
