What's new in product: August 2026

Product photos rarely fail for one big reason. They fail for a dozen small ones: a background that renders differently every time, an edit made at a size too small to judge properly, a listing that goes live without anyone checking the photo quality first. August's updates close that gap, with more consistent AI results, more precise editing at catalog scale, and more ways to catch a bad photo before it costs you a sale.

Here's everything that shipped, and what it means for your listings.

More studio backgrounds for AI Fashion Models

Studio backgrounds are the most-used category in AI Fashion Models, and until now they were also the least predictable: the same preset could render a slightly different backdrop every time you generated it. Introducing six new studio presets, built around the exact backgrounds fashion sellers use most (Seamless White, Seamless Warm White, Standard Neutral White, Standard Warm White, Concrete White, and Concrete Cool White), now delivering a consistent, accurate result on the first try.

More presets, filtering by style, and quick access to your recently used backgrounds are already on the way.

Reuse settings for video generations for more consistent look

Every video in the AI tools gallery now has its own details view, the same one images have always had. Open any video to see the source image and the exact prompt and settings that produced it, then hit "Reuse these settings" to pre-fill the tool so you can easily iterate from a past result and apply it to future videos in 1 click to produce the same consistent look.

Batch, built for precision at scale

Two updates land in Batch this month, and both are about editing hundreds of listings without losing the detail that sells one.

Focused mode solves the biggest complaint about editing at scale: fixing one image inside a small grid tile. Click into any photo in a batch and it opens full screen, large enough to actually judge the edit, while the rest of your batch stays visible as a filmstrip beside it. Every tool works exactly as it does one-on-one (layers, zoom, precise retouching), and switching back to the grid view is one click away.

Upscale at export means your export step can now also be your resolution step. Scale images up to 4x directly from the Batch export modal, so listings hold up on marketplaces and high-zoom product pages without a separate editing pass.

See image dimensions before you download

Every image tile in the AI tools gallery now shows its exact pixel dimensions on hover, so you can confirm a photo meets a marketplace's size requirements before you even download it.

API Updates

A sharper fidelity check for AI-edited fashion photos

The fashionFidelity feature in the Image Editing API now runs on our v2 product-fidelity model, and it catches defects v1 missed. In the case that prompted the upgrade, an AI edit hallucinated stripes onto a jacket sleeve; v1 scored the image 0.94, effectively clean, while v2 correctly scored it 0.4 and flagged the issue.

If you're using fashionFidelity as an automated QA gate before publishing AI-edited fashion imagery at scale, this means catching more of the mistakes that shouldn't reach a live listing, with nothing to change on your end. Same endpoint, same request and response shape.
